French rooster ruffles a few feathers

A story that has been in the headlines in France for some weeks has ended with a reprieve for Maurice, the noisy rooster! A judge has ruled that the cock can continue crowing after complaints from neighbours.

Interesting translation of the French ‘voler dans les plumes’, a phrase that originates from cock fighting but has been turned into ‘ruffled feathers’ here, something the bird has certainly done!
